Katie is the director and teacher at Natural State Music and has been a music teacher in the NWA community for almost 15 years. As a violinist, she has performed with various ensembles and organizations in NWA and the River Valley, and continues to teach private violin lessons in her studio at Arkansas Musicworks.

After graduating from the UofA with a Bachelor's of Music Education and a minor in Business, she began teaching orchestra at the Arkansas Arts Academy (formerly Benton County School of the Arts). She went on to create and build the orchestra program at Founder's Classical Academy (formerly NWA Classical Academy), before Covid hit and changed everything!

After the birth of her son, Sullivan, she struggled to find programs that were appropriate for his age and development, until a collegue recommended Music Together. Having never attended a class, Katie was intrigued with the variety of music, as well as the rich and engaging curriculum that accompanied it. She began the teacher training in the fall of 2021, and in the spring of 2022, offered her very first Music Together class! Today, after almost 3 years of teaching, she is excited to continue offering Music Together to families in NWA, and is proud of the community that has grown from it!
